Benchmark Injury Management Assessment (BIMA)
What is BIMA?
BIMA is a psychometrically stable, calibrated and scorable injury management assessment program which assesses your organisation’s occupational and non-occupational injury management system.

Why use BIMA?
BIMA can assist your organisation to:
- Reduce the frequency, severity and duration of workplace injuries
- Increase return to work rates post-injury or illness (occupational and non-occupational)
- Reduce workers compensation premiums through lower claims costs
- Reduce the indirect costs of injury and illness such as overtime, hiring, training, loss of skilled staff and/or productivity.
- Increase worker satisfaction with injury management practices
What is involved?
An International Disability Management Standards Council (IDMSC) certified auditor visits the workplace and assesses your organisation’s injury management system/s in regard to:
- Injury management policy and workplace resources
- Injury prevention
- Early intervention and timely return to work process
The assessment takes approximately three days onsite to complete. A gap analysis report is presentated following the assessment.
